The SCBA Committee approved a change in the allocation of VL Points in County League events for the new season.

There will be no points allocated for a teams League Ranking. Instead - the points will be doubled for matches won.

A = Championship pairs final : (14 / 16) pairs qualify with all gaining points,

                9th - 11th : 4 VL points each & 12th - 14th or 16th : 2 VL points each)

                If no plate, equal blocks of 4 & 2 to half way from 9th position.

 

B = Championship teams.

                Winning Rnd of 17+ teams (2), Winning Rnd of 9 - 16 teams (4)

                Winning Rnd of 8 (6), Winning S-F (10), Winning Final (12 to min 28 max. 32),

                Losing Finalists (20 min. or 22 if played in round of 17+)

VL awards only for rounds played e.g. A plays only in Rnd of 16 & Final gets 4 + 12, his replacement B in Rnd 2 gets 6 & replacement C in SF get 10 VL pts.
C = Standard scale for one-off events when total entry is 10-20 pairs or teams; top award reduced when less than 10 entries (e.g. top award 12 if 9 entries, 9 if 8 entries etc.).

 
D21-24 & D25+ = Standard scale when entry exceeds 20 pairs or teams (points as shown to 9th or 10th place, then equal  blocks of 2 & 1 VL points to half way **).

Events not gaining VL points :

Team of Eight, All Simultaneous Pairs events  including M.Coda Cup,    

AGM Swiss Teams,  Newcomers events, Club Championship Teams & Pairs.

 

COUNTY LEAGUES :

                'A' 4VL per match won (2 VL draw or any 10-10 result) 

                'B' 2VL per match won (1 VL draw or any 10-10 result)

                'C' 1VL per match won or(0.5 draw or any 10-10 result) 

 
The Trophy goes to the player with the largest total from their five best scores. A tie is broken in favour of the most events won. If equal events are won, then on the most 2nd then 3rd etc. places.
